Signing in

Email and password, or Google where offered — and what the notices mean when sign-in says "not yet".

Sign in lives in the site navigation. If you're already signed in it bounces you straight to the dashboard, and when something's not right it tells you exactly what — no generic failures. Most of this page is what the notices mean.

Email and password

Enter the email and password from account setup. If you arrived via a deep link, sign-in returns you to the page you were headed for. Notices at the top confirm flows you've just finished elsewhere — password updated, email confirmed, account ready.

Continue with Google

Where offered, Continue with Google signs you in with one click through the standard Google consent. It's also available during invite setup instead of creating a password — there the Google account must match the invited email exactly, and a mismatch bounces you back with the password option still open.

Two Google notices worth knowing:

  • A cancelled or timed-out attempt returns you to sign-in with a plain explanation — try again, or use email instead.
  • Account not linked — your email already has a polite.ai account whose address was never confirmed, so Google can't attach to it. Confirm your email (below) or set a password first; the notice links to both.

Reset a forgotten password

Press Forgot? beside the password field and enter your email. The answer is always if an account exists for that address, a reset link is on its way — deliberately the same either way, so the form can't be used to test which emails have accounts. The emailed link opens Choose a new password: eight characters or more, with a strength meter and a confirm field. Success drops you back at sign-in, ready to go. Expired or invalid links say so plainly — request a fresh one.

Confirm your email address

Accounts created through an invite link are already verified — the link itself proved the address — so most people never need this. If you are asked to confirm (typically the account not linked case above), request a fresh confirmation link from the sign-in page's notice. The response is deliberately the same whether or not the address is known, and the email is worth a spam-folder check.

Why can't I sign in yet?

Two amber notices explain refused sign-ins:

  • Your account is awaiting approval — you're on the waitlist and your organisation hasn't been activated yet. Nothing to fix; you'll get an email.
  • Your invite is waiting — you're approved but haven't finished account setup. Find the invite email and follow the link; sign-ins stay blocked until then. Lost or expired link?

And if you've never asked at all: polite.ai is in private beta — request an invite.
