The Builder is where agent teams are made and changed. Open it with Agents → New agent to start a fresh team, or Open in builder on any team's card to keep working on one.
Two panels, one conversation
You chat with the Builder on the left; the Live preview canvas on the right draws the team as it takes shape — new agents, transfers and connections stream in as the assistant works. Tap any agent node to open its editor drawer without leaving the page.
The composer takes rich text: Enter sends, Shift+Enter starts a new line, and quick-suggestion chips seed common asks — Build a receptionist, Add an agent, Tighten the greeting.
AI edit and Plain view
A segmented control at the top right switches between AI edit — chat and canvas side by side — and Plain view, a full-width read-only graph with a legend explaining every node and line. You can still tap a node in Plain view to edit that agent; only the structure is read-only there.
Which view a team opens in follows your preference under Settings → Preferences (Open agents with AI chat editor, on by default). The chat's × and the canvas's Full canvas button flip between the two as well.
Everything autosaves
There is no Save button. Every change — yours or the assistant's — autosaves into a draft, and real callers stay on the live version until you press Go live. You can close the tab mid-thought and nothing is lost: a new team is created the moment the chat starts, and the conversation survives leaving and returning. See Drafts, versions & going live.
While the assistant is editing
When the Builder is mid-change, the canvas softens and shows an assistant is editing — provisional chip, so you know what you're looking at may still move. Pan and zoom keep working; the treatment lifts the moment the change lands. More on the canvas in Reading the team graph.
The action bar
After a change lands, the action bar offers the next moves: Test opens a browser test call, Agent review asks an independent AI reviewer to critique the whole team, Continue keeps editing, and Go live publishes the draft to your callers.
It already knows your business
If your website knowledge has finished its first crawl, the Builder starts every conversation with a brief on your company — what you do, how you talk, how to reach you — so its designs are grounded in your actual business rather than generalities. It can also wire your knowledge base onto agents so they answer from your own content.
The Builder never changes anything silently. It proposes in plain language and waits for your confirmation — see Describe what you want.
