The Builder is where agent teams are made and changed. Agents → New agent starts a fresh team; Open in builder on any team's card continues an existing one.
Two panels, one conversation
The chat sits on the left with the composer docked into it; the team canvas on the right draws the team as it takes shape — new agents, transfers and connections stream in as the assistant works, and while a change is still in motion the canvas softens under an assistant is editing — provisional chip. Tapping any agent node opens its editor drawer without leaving the page. The workspace is pinned to the window, so the composer is always in reach — only the conversation scrolls. On narrower screens the two panels become a Chat / Canvas tab pair.
The composer takes typed or dictated input — the mic button toggles dictation, and the transcript appears as editable text before anything is sent. Suggestion chips above it seed common asks. When the assistant needs an answer, the question and its option pills dock into the composer itself; a typed reply works as well as a tap.
The command bar
One slim bar sits above the workspace: back to Agents, the team's name, and a status pill — amber DRAFT while there are unpublished edits, green LIVE · v2 when what callers hear is exactly what's on screen. Click the pill for the detail: what the draft is based on, when it autosaved, and a chip for every field that changed. History, Discard and Go live sit to the right; Download JSON and Delete team live under the ⋯ menu.
Show the panels you need
The two panels are yours to arrange. The ✦ at the top left hides the chat for a full-width canvas; the panel icon at the top right of the canvas hides the diagram for a full-width chat; either one floats in place to bring its panel back. The divider between them drags (double-click resets the 60 / 40 split), and the layout is remembered per user.
Everything autosaves
There is no Save button. Every change — the user's or the assistant's — autosaves into a draft, and real callers stay on the live version until Go live is pressed. Closing the tab loses nothing: the conversation survives leaving and returning. See Drafts, versions & going live.
The action bar
After a change lands, the action bar offers the next moves: Test opens a browser test call, Agent review asks an independent AI reviewer to critique the whole team, Continue keeps editing, and Go live publishes the draft to callers.
It already knows the business
Once website knowledge has finished its first crawl, the Builder starts every conversation with a brief on the company — what it does, how it talks, how to reach it — and it can wire a knowledge base onto agents so they answer from the organisation's own content.
The Builder never changes anything silently. It proposes in plain language and waits for confirmation — see Describe what you want.
